i like yuki. why can't he be the one receiving happiness...?
i mean if there wasn't yuki, then kyo and tohru pairing is fine by me. but there's yuki. gentle, considerate, and being hurt so much in the series, shouldn't he get some happiness by being able to be with the one he loves?
though the writer cracked some serious jokes in there by making yuki treat tohru as a "mother" figure but still if the writer didn't crack this joke, yuki would have loved tohru deeply. perhaps even more than kyo. both kyo and yuki sought for acceptance. but kyo has had acceptance before. his mother, kazumi, and even tohru's mother... but yuki, before being rescued from the main manor, has never experienced happiness nor acceptance.
sigh, idk if it's just that yuki reminds me of someone or that i'm a soft spot for these kind of guys or that i'm freaking sleepy right now.
it just makes me feel more empty as i continue with the series and yuki not being able to be together with tohru. (i don't particularly like tohru, but walking into walls etc... it just feels familiar.)
but anyway, i'll probably condemn the author if yuki ends up with the-girl-whom-i-THINK-is-called-mayo. her character is kind of warped. so is the author's. seems like the author has a weird sense of humor and perspective, always wanting to pair violent with gentle... 1: kyo + tohru. 2: akito + kureno. 3: izusu (rin) + hatsuhara. 4: arisa + kureno (they like each other but kureno felt he should be with akito instead because she's alone.) 5. kyoko + katsuya etc etc.
all the pairings are violent + gentle.
can't you just even grant 1 gentle + gentle?
i won't even mind if it's momiji + tohru. momiji is younger than tohru by 1, but... in a way, he's just like honey-senpai. looks carefree, but he's the one who observes the most. most thoughtful. very sensible. the difference between them is momiji has to shoulder a lot more pain and sufferings. to make the choice of making his mother forget him just so that his mother wouldn't break down. to reject his own sister trying to get close to him just because he fear his sister would know he's a jyuunenshi. to play the violin alone, cherishing his own little dreams, and hoping his mother and sister can be happy. he only wished that he could be with tohru, and that his mother and sister can be happy. but in the end, they came to naught. perhaps the latter came true because he sacrificed his own existence in his mother's memories. such a simple boy. but i get this feeling that by the time i finish the series, he'll still be alone. zuto.
oh, and i wiki-ed fruits basket. the ending.. is really yuki + machi (not mayo) and kyo + tohru.
i really dislike that machi girl.
heh, i'll read a few more chapters and when it reaches machi, i'll quit this manga.
i've wanted to read fruits basket for so long. and now that i've finally read till chapter 124, it's so disappointing. i should have read tsubasa.
idk... sigh. i'm confused. i duno why but i've held on to the belief that yuki should be with tohru even though i hold no grudges for kyo. but when kyo is with tohru, i just dislike it.
maybe... just maybe I........
