i realised i've forgotten to blog about my job. well, i had a job errand on saturday. pretty tiring.
we went to report for work at 1:30pm sharp ("we" meaning me, mom and aunt ping) and left at 10:30pm sharp. lols.
i was in charge of the fruits stall for that day, cutting fruits, mashing them into fruit juice etc. when i first reached the stall, i was introduced to aunt hong, the "real" person in charge of that stall. she handed me a slip of paper with almost all the prices of the fruits there. well, she was friendly...
then, within fifteen minutes, the price tags were all in my head. it's just a matter of mixing them up and saying the wrong price. lol.
next, the cashier. my, that was...fun. ._. kopitiam had kopitiam cards and when you forgot to tap the card, you'll be in deep *tut*. i forgot to tap the cards for about 5 times, i tink, and ended up keying 10 cents for things costing around $5.
the whole afternoon was a total wreck with no time for water break at all. it was standing, selling, mashing, washing, cutting all day long. when people came, some ordered juice, some ordered fruits. the worse thing was that different fruits used different juice machine. mango, dragonfruit, banana, papaya, honeydew, rock melon shared one juice machine and you must wash the machine after every use. plus, you gotta remember to add sugar syrup for those juices. watermelon had a juice machine of its own, so that's not much of a hassle. apple, celery, orange, pineapple, starfruit shared another machine. this one you gotta wash it after approximately 8 juices.
anyway, although the afternoon was super busy, i was in a day dream... i kept hallucinating luh, thinking that the big knife would somehow make its way to my finger, the juice machine would explode suddenly, a robber would come and rob the fruits and money away and i don't have to work anymore. xD kinda unrealistic but they kept me occupied and high! x3
then, without realising time slipping away from my fingers, it was already 5:30 even before i realised it. my legs wasn't tired, just that my spine kept aching, screaming to rest. but i couldnt rest. the people were streaming in, two or three at a time. and at any point of time that i had a breather, i would have to wash those dumb machines, clear my station as i keep forgetting to place the fruits back into the fridge after i took them out. and then the people would start queueing up the moment im halfway through...
at around 6:30pm, i decided that i didnt want to sell anymore. so i started packing up the moment the queue slackened. there was alot of be cleared. firstly, the place where the orange, apple, starfruits etc were placed had to be cleared. need to wash those BIG bowls and BIG buckets (there was a bucket under every bowl), then remove all the ice (damn alot of ice there can... ), remove all traces of water (woah, this one, "tua gong". the water VERY hard to remove as i only had a piece of cloth and well, bowls and buckets.) and clean the place up. afterwhich, i had to place all buckets and bowls back. (VERY VERY heavy.)
next, i had to clean the place that showcased those pretty fruits. need to remove the fruits one by one and place them into a big plate, clean the whole place up and wash the trays that were containing the fruits previously.
then, one by one, the fruit machines. had to dissect them and clean them up cuz being who i am, i had spilled the juice everywhere. :X
after all those cleaning, i had to go over to mom's and anut ping's station, the coffee stall. woah, that one.... the people never stopped streaming in. but one thing that's good about it; you don't have to calculate till crazy cuz the bills are about the same. for fruits, almost every bill is different. for coffee stall, almost every other bill looks identical. thus, i was in charge of the cashier! and after i went over to the coffee stall, the queue was going at a pretty fast pace. i settled all those easy ones, $1.60 for a can of drink, $3.20 for two, and most people were just aiming for those.
however, though i had gone over to the coffee stall, the fruits stall was still operating. meaning, people can still buy fruits. so i was practically running to and fro the fruits stall and coffee stall whenever there was people wanting to buy fruits. lalala.

AND TOMORROW'S WEEK A TUESDAY! WTHH!~ GOT H1 EARLY IN THE MORNING, BREAK, ECON LECTURE (die), BREAK AGAIN, GP TUTORIAL, ECON TUTORIAL (die), BREAK AGAIN LIKE WTH, LEP ENRICHMENT!!!! so in the end, we end at 5 pm. haiz. worse still, next week have chen qing biao test. straight dieeeee.
okkays, go maple awhile and slp liaos XD hahahhaaha. (packing the bag comes after this xD)
